Onanoff and their BuddyPhones are set to kick off

Children are like a sponge when it comes to absorbing knowledge and learning, and you can be sure that they are also pretty avid followers of their parents. If you were to wear a pair of headphones many a time you head out for your morning jog, or would like to tune in to your favorite music with some privacy, chances are your little ones, too, would like to enjoy a pair of headphones by themselves. Well, there are not too many kid-friendly headphones out there in the market, which is why Onanoff have kicked off their BuddyPhones, which is part of the “Color Your Music” series.
The BuddyPhones happen to be kid-friendly headphones that will sport new customizable color-in sticker packs. In other words, the kids themselves will get to choose just how they would like to design their headphones and color directly onto the stickers using a set of crayons or markers, before sticking them on the BuddyPhones for a fresh and unique look.
Not only that, in order to ensure that your children will still grow up listening to you – not because they are obedient, but because their hearing is preserved, the “Color Your Music” series sports BuddyPhones will come with volume-limiting technology that is perfect for safe listening, in addition to a bendable and flexible headband and a BuddyCable audio splitter so that up to four friends are able to listen to one device at the same time. The base colors which one can pick from will include Yellow, Blue, Pink, Purple, Green and Orange.
The “Color Your Music” series would be the perfect foil when it comes to helping your kids unleash their creativity as they draw, stick and play. Not only that, the included BuddyCable will give assurance to the little ones that they do not need to fight over time with the iPad, and the asking price of $24.99 a pop is definitely something that is extremely affordable for all of your budding artists or musicians.

Archos Diamond S makes it to the market

When it comes to the world of smartphones, there are dime a dozen models from which one is able to choose from – the trick is you would first need to know just what your needs are exactly before you decide to take the plunge. After all, those of you who are aiming high would definitely know by now that those handsets that reside on the high end spectrum of things can cost a pretty penny, although thankfully, it does not have that kind of binding commitment like a marriage. Well, French brand Archos has stepped forward with the Archos Diamond S.
Basically, the Archos Diamond S is a device that intends to aim high without breaking the bank. The all new Archos Diamond S would demonstrate a high-tech spirit that builds upon its legacy, where it will run on a powerful octa-core processor with an external design that will not cost you more than £159.99 a pop.
Your eyes will be enchanted by the 5” Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 3 screen that would certainly place this handset in the high end side of things. With a flat, glass-finish design, it is a perfect external manifestation of the outstanding technology that lies within the device.
Apart from the octa-core processor as mentioned earlier, this model will also boast of 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, letting you get started right from the get go without having to compromise in speed and storage. Android 5.1 Lollipop will arrive pre-installed on the device, which means you need not wait for a software update, either.
In terms of capturing memories with the Archos Diamond S, it will arrive with dual cameras – where the back is a 16MP shooter that should be able to capture all of your favorite moments without a cinch, while selfie lovers would fall for the 8MP front-facing shooter. 4G/LTE connectivity is also thrown into the mix for speedy connectivity no matter where you are. Expect the Archos Diamond S to be fully unveiled at IFA 2015 that is happening early next month before it hits the market this November.

Can science help you scoop your ice cream?

Who doesn’t love ice cream? There are so many flavors and combinations to choose from, it’s hard to think that there isn’t something out there for everyone. The hardest part, quite literally, is when you’ve just pulled the ice cream from the fridge and want to scoop it immediately, but can’t because it’s almost rock solid. You can stick it in the microwave for a few seconds, or run the scoop under some warm water, but it’s still going to be a bit of a challenge getting everything just right without it turning into soup.
If you’d rather use a little science to make this task easier, then a thermo-ring heated scoop with a non-stick bowl can help with that. The ScoopThat! II uses a transfer of heat from the biodegradable liquid in the handle, and uses a thermal ring along the top edge of the scooping bowl. This means you can glide into the ice cream regardless of how cold it is, and then put it in your bowl without it sticking to the inside thanks to the non-stick scoop.
It’s made of a food-grade aluminum alloy and polypropylene, and will cost you $24.95. Since this is merely a transfer of heat, you don’t need to worry about replacing batteries or charging anything if your sweet tooth acts up. This is a bit over-the-top for getting a perfect scoop of ice cream, but if eating this particular treat is a regular occurrence in your household it could be worth the money.

Butterfleye delivers smart and simple wireless home monitoring camera

Everyone likes to go for a holiday, that is for sure. After all, there is nothing quite like winding down after a particularly long period of hard work, and a holiday will not only help recharge your mind, body and soul, it could jolly well bring you to a new level of creativity unlike any other before. The thing is, going for a holiday might be stressful for those who have a tendency to worry, as you would worry yourself sick, wondering who is going to take care of the plants in your home, as well as whether the home is secure or not. Perhaps a wireless home monitoring camera can do the trick, and the Butterfleye does seem to be a potential answer to this dilemma.
The Butterfleye has just launched on Indiegogo, where should there be enough funds collected to ensure the campaign is a success, then this smart, simple, and wireless home monitoring camera would definitely be worth checking out. It will make use of infrared technology in order to sense activity and prompt recording, providing you with “eyes” on what is happening in your home whenever you are away.
The Butterfleye will be different from other normal home monitoring cameras, as it makes use of Activity Based Recording (ABR) which will only record when humans, pets, or specific sounds are detected, hence doing away with the need for storing empty footage and significantly reducing the amount of false alarms. Of course, the Butterfleye will only be realized if it manages to raise $150,000 before mass production can kick off.
Merging the strengths of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Cloud technologies, the Butterfleye will connect to your smartphone and instantly sends you notifications each time it detects meaningful events. Butterfleye will also be able to learn your routines and habits, sending you smarter notifications over time. It is also completely cord-free, allowing it to house a rechargeable lithium ion battery which can hold a charge for two weeks before requiring a recharge.
Expect Full HD 1080p recording to be the standard here, and you will also end up with a day of free rolling cloud storage, including paid options for 7 days’ worth and 30 days’ worth of rolling storage. Those who would like to own the Butterfleye can place a pre-order on Indiegogo with pledge levels for the camera starting from $199 for early bird backers, and if all goes according to plan, it should begin to ship from December this year onward.

Mature Your Own Gin Kit appeals to the rebel in you

There is nothing wrong in having a slight tipple at the end of a particularly stressful week at the office, or even at home, as it might help to calm down your soul and soothe those jangled nerves of yours. However, purchasing alcoholic drinks does add up over time where your bank account is concerned, so why not save some money with the £99.99 Mature Your Own Gin Kit? After all, at least you know what goes into your drink for sure.
The Mature Your Own Gin Kit comes with just about everything one requires to make your own cask-aged gin. It will be accompanied by a pair of 50cl bottles of gin and a 1L freshly toasted oak barrel, making it ready to drink straight out the barrel. Those who give it a go would realize that this is far from being a complicated process, where all that you need to do is to pour said gin into the barrel using the slinky stainless steel funnel provided, leave it alone for a few days or even weeks, and let time do its dance before you get high on your own effort. The barrel is good for about three uses, so do take note of that.

Spikeball is volleyball and foursquare combined into one game

When it’s nice out, we need to take as much advantage of the weather as possible. Before Fall hits, we should soak up the suns rays, and the best way to do that is by doing something fun outside! There are a million and one different yard games you can play, or you can go for an all-out sport such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, or football.
If you want to play a game that will make you work up a sweat, but doesn’t require you to run yourself crazy, then why not get something that has the best of both worlds? Spikeball is like a cross between volleyball and foursquare. This only takes up a little more space than a game of foursquare would, and requires the setting and spiking skills of volleyball for you to come out victorious. It requires far less running on your part, but makes you pay a bit more attention, as the ball is much smaller than a volleyball or dodgeball.
This set comes with the Spikeball net, which sits at about ankle level, three balls, a carrying bag, and a set of rules. This is going to cost you $59.99 and looks like it could be a fun game to play for kids and adults alike. The best part about this game is that you don’t have to worry about setting up a net or finding a free court to play on. While it is supposed to be 2 on 2, there’s nothing wrong with bending the rules to add in more than four people or more than one ball.

The Rurudo Fan Shade keeps you safe come rain or shine

When you think of an umbrella, you immediately recall needing one if it rains. Of course, in places where the temperature is regularly hot enough to cook an egg on the road, an umbrella can be used to keep the sun off of you so your skin doesn’t feel like it’s boiling. While most just rely on sunscreen to keep their skin safe, there’s nothing wrong with wanting a little extra protection from the sun.
This Rurudo Fan Shade is going to help you keep away from harmful UV rays while staying cool at the same time. This is a parasol, umbrella for rain, and a fan that will keep you dry, cool, and away from a sun tan should you be trying to steer clear from that sort of thing. The canopy is made of cotton and polyester with a water-repellant finish, which means you’ll be safe from a decent drizzle, but will likely have some water coming through if it’s an all-out downpour.
This is rather frilly and cute, but for it to work you’ll need to have 4 AA batteries handy to make sure the fan keeps going. You’ll be able to turn the fan on or off through a button on the handle. I can forsee someone accidentally hitting the switch on a rainy day and getting a cool blast of air that will make the chill seem far worse, but possibly more terrifying is the chance of getting your hair stuck in the fan. If it’s a risk you’re willing to take, then it’s going to cost you $110.

Isiah Whitlock Jr. Talking Bobblehead is an interesting acquisition

Have you heard of Isiah Whitlock Jr. before? Well, if you haven’t perhaps now is the right time to remedy such a situation. Of course, you can always tune in to him in various media formats, but how about getting his undivided attention round the clock? It does not sound impossible at all even if we have yet to perfect the art of time travel or cloning, thanks to the £29.99 Isiah Whitlock Jr. Talking Bobblehead.
I suppose this is the worst trait about Isiah Whitlock Jr., and that is, he is unable to be everywhere. Well, with the Isiah Whitlock Jr. Talking Bobblehead, this particular conundrum is solved for good, as his signature elongated delivery of an expletive is now able to be heard on repeat – as long as there is still some life left in the battery powering it, of course. This is one Kickstarter campaign that saw the required amount smashed quickly, and the “Sheeeeeeeee-it…” catchphrase is now included with each purchase. We wonder whether this or the Kyle bobblehead is cooler…what do you think?

Archos reveals pair of smartphones that offer plenty of bang for your buck

In many parts of the world at the moment, it is not the most economically vibrant of times. Not only are currencies depreciating in selected regions around the globe, there are also internal, domestic issues such as an ailing stock market or a property downturn that has set the tone for a negative financial outlook, and this has led to a heightened level of awareness for folks to tighten their belts – and to make sure that every single penny spent would be able to deliver maximum returns. Archos of France knows this, which is why they have rolled out not one, but a pair of 5″ smartphones that will come with hardware specifications to keep you happy, without breaking the bank.
The asking price for each of these smartphones? We are looking at a mere £99 each, now how about that? The first of the two would be the Archos 50 Cesium that will arrive with Windows 10 right out of the box, whereas those who would prefer to do their mobile work on the Android platform can always settle for the Archos 50e Helium, where it will be powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop. Sounds like the same kind of modus operandi when Archos rolled out the Helium Plus 50 and Helium Plus 55 handsets earlier this year.
The Archos 50 Cesium and 50e Helium smartphones are more or less similar when it comes to their list of hardware specifications, where common denominators between the two would include a 5” HD IPS display that renders bright, realistic colors and allows wide viewing angles. As for the chip that keeps everything running together, it would be 1.1Ghz quad-core processors from Qualcomm. There will also be 4G/LTE connectivity thrown into the mix, in addition to a sleek outer design with rounded edges and a metal frame.
So, between the two devices, which one would you settle for as a road warrior?
